More Deals to Save Money

This week is all about saving money in the run up to Christmas, so today I’m posting about BuyAndSell.ie being back up and doing business again. Well, doing YOUR business actually. It’s online-only format makes it easy to buy and sell (hence the name) pre-owned items. One man’s attic junk is another’s prized mantlepiece clock or painting or duck decoy. The exciting thing about their relaunch is that it now has a comprehensive redesign. Drawing on more than 20 years’ experience in bringing buyers and sellers together, the new look BuyandSell.ie now offers users a modern, simplistic and inviting user experience.

Considerable investment has gone into the development of the new site which is populated with vibrant images inviting eager bargain hunters to seek out everything from big ticket items, such as cars to those more underrated essentials, such as batteries! Users can now browse through a wide range of pre-owned quality items across more than 15 categories including fashion, house and home, electronics and sport.

The revamped site is reflective of the new brand identity unveiled recently, which has a distinctly playful tone of voice and will communicated via a quirky advertising campaign across outdoor, print, radio and digital media. Inspired by the old classified ads that populated the original yellow newspaper, the ad campaign speculates on how some of the items available on BuyandSell.ie might sell themselves, using the nostalgic language of a lonely hearts ad.

Nóirín Ní Laocha, chief executive of BuyAndSell.ie says, “BuyAndSell.ie is still offers the simple reliable service that Irish people have used to find and flog their much loved items for the past 24  years, but now we doing it in a simpler, cleaner and more contemporary way.

“Irish consumers have a particular appetite for online retail, with projections of 20% growth year on year. We also love a good bargain. Having survived the worst recession in living history, we are more savvy in terms of how we spend our money. People are proud to shop smarter, to make their money go further, and buying and selling good quality, pre-owned  and new items is an economical and conscientious way to do this. Frugality is the new fashionable!”

The site is offering consumers an exciting opportunity to find or sell their quality new and used goods for free. Unlike competitors in the online trading space, individuals can post up to 5 ads across all categories, entirely free of charge!

Ní Laocha continues “We are delighted to invite savvy buyers and sellers alike to check out our new site, and we are offering the chance to post up to 5 ads entirely free of charge. It’s a simple offer – there are no restrictions in terms of category or item value – just five free ads across any of our 17 categories! It’s the perfect time to get some extra cash before Christmas” says Ní Laocha.

There are further plans afoot, with strategies in train to improve the functionality of the user experience, and to extensively promote the site via traditional and digital advertising. “We currently have apps in development for both IOS and Android which we plan to launch next month. Our long term view is to resume our place as the No.1 market place for buyers and sellers in Ireland”  says Ní Laocha.

So, go out there and buy and sell and save and be kind to each other because what good is saving money if we are not being kind.
