Knitting Groups in Cork City, Ireland

June 4, 2012 by Evin

With several yarn shops, Cork City is a wool lovers paradise. At least, it is for me. For those new to Cork or just visiting, yarn can be a fun souvenir and going to a knit night can be a non-touristy way to enjoy your time here. Fun for a tourist or student here for a short time but essential for any newcomer looking to be part of a community.

In addition to these regular weekly knitting groups (check in case of summer breaks or such), there are special events such as Worldwide Knit In Public Day.

Looking to get some help knitting a Xmas jumper I haven’t knitted since school years ago ,

There are many wonderful knitters on Etsy but also on Craftbay, which is exclusively Irish made products. Did you choose a crazy ugly pattern for your Christmas jumper or something more classic, like Fair Isle?

Hi, I’m interested in going to a knitting group in Cork and just want to know how many of these might still be going on? I’m based in the city centre, so that would be ideal for me if you know of anything!

Enough about me. What are you thinking?
