DC Vacation: Day 12, Koi & Friends on Earth Day

Day 12 of my DC holiday started off with a drive down to Capitol Hill. The ten-mile trip took 50 minutes in the morning (love that extra lane on Connecticut Avenue) and 90 minutes in the evening. I had hoped that Earth Day would mean fewer drivers, but alas that was not the case. I did commune with nature over lunch that day by having vegan bean salad and vegetarian yogurt salad combination beside the nearest koi pond – PHOTO.

That evening, I enjoyed some catching up time with a few of my dearest high school friends! You know those friends who are easy to be with and when you get together you catch up and chat like your relationship is exactly where you left it last time? I am fortunate to have such dear friends as this and the fact that they found time on a school night (they have children) to escape for a little girl time is fabulous.
