H&M (Hennes & Mauritz), a Swedish clothing and cosmetics company, offers fast fashion at reasonable prices worldwide.
Every city I’ve ever visited in Europe seems to have an H&M store. Since we don’t have one here in Cork City, I always take advantage of traveling to do some shopping. So far, I’ve shopped at H&M in San Jose, Amsterdam, Barcelona, London, Vienna, Rome, Brest, and Paris. Admittedly, I may value the experience more because it is elusive, but we’ll soon find out because Cork City is getting its very own H&M store! Limerick has one, Dublin has one, and soon Cork will become H&M’s third store location in Ireland. This is confirmed by a photo of the store itself on Opera Lane by the Opera House and Crawford Gallery in City Centre, a job posting on H&M’s website, and an article in the Irish Examiner. It has been rumoured for a time as shown by an article in The Post, but now it’s official. The new Cork City H&M store will open its doors for the first time on 1 October, 2009. Click for my September post about the store.
