On the news, they announced a new website, Placenames Database of Ireland, now offers the true Irish names for places in the Republic. Of course, while the news was airing, the site was very slow and probably a bit overwhelmed. But after a wee bit, I checked back and found out that the true full name for Cork City is Cathair Chorcaí. You can look up your favorite place by visiting the site, which has an English version of the site as well as the default Irish version: – Placenames Database of Ireland.

Enough about me. What are you thinking?
