Quirky Moments in Cork

While walking in Cork City Centre today, I observed something interesting. The first took place in front of me while I waited to cross a street. A car waiting at the red light honked when the light turned green then turned and slowed down at the island in the next block (which also had a green light). The car slowed down just long enough to pay for a newspaper and take the paper from the person selling it from the island. It sure makes right-hand driving seem more practical when you see drive-up newspaper sales in action.

It somehow reminded me of the newspaper seller at Mount Vernon Square in D.C. and how crazy people are when driving in that square and what creative turns are made. Perhaps one day something will remind me of Cork.

Enough about me. What are you thinking?
